SEAROCK

A Society for PASTORS + LEADERS seeking renewal in the church.

WELCOME.

Searock is a society for leaders seeking renewal in the church.  Our community exists to support lead pastors, church planters and and those playing strategic kingdom roles on the frontiers of secular culture, to renew our witness to the world and shape a hopeful imagination for the future.

We run an annual fellowship cohort for emerging leaders, create new content and resources, and build relational networks, in the context of a growing society of friends around the world.

Our aim is to build courageous, hopeful pastors that can lead and serve thriving churches in the midst of secular culture.

Searock is anchored by our annual cohort program, a fellowship for lead pastors and leaders looking to shape their imagination for the future of the church, pray for renewal, and build connections with other leaders around the world.

Jessica Gracewski — San Francisco, CA

“Searock sessions came at a pivotal moment in my pastoral call and vocation. This community activated, encouraged, and unlocked gifts in ways that were transformational. I felt a deep sense of belonging, friendship and community for the long game in my pastoral gifts and call.“

COLLIN OUTERBRIDGE — ORLANDO, FL

“Searock is the community my wife and I have been searching for since the day we planted our church. We’re so thankful to have found friends to share life with and who inspire us to contend for the future church.”

Tyler Gorsline – Seattle, WA

“Searock embodies a culture of leadership humility and authenticity that is transformational. The people are fantastic; The Seven Core Convictions are a solid foundation for ministry and the locations are stellar.  It’s been incredible.”

CONVICTIONS:

There are many pastors’ gatherings, networks, and conferences.  Searock is deeply relational, focused on leaders in secular contexts, and committed to shared imagination and practices for life and ministry. Our core philosophy of ministry is anchored in these 7 convictions:

  • Fidelity to Orthodoxy. We hold to the historic faith with joy, boldness and confidence in a time of widespread theological and ethical compromise, particularly in the areas of scripture, sex, money and power.  We are committed to the Gospel of the Kingdom of Jesus.

  • Moving in the power of the Spirit. We embrace the gifts and ministry of the Spirit to equip the church for fruitful missional engagement.   We seek to be a people of God’s manifest presence, so that many may say, “surely God is among them.”

  • Practicing Counter-Formation. We practice a slow-down spirituality in a hyper-connected, over-busy, and exhausted world. Recovering ancient practices of sabbath and contemplative prayer. Living by a rule of life, and aiming to becoming desert fathers and mothers in the city.

  • Thoughtful engagement with secular culture. We preach the Gospel in a way that deconstructs cultural idols and proclaims the Gospel as the fulfillment of all personal and existential longings in our cultural moment.  We seek creative mission and ecclesiology that fit the context and reach the lost.

  • Seeking spiritual awakening. We pray fervently for an outpouring of the Spirit, that brings revival to the church, and a spiritual awakening in the larger culture.

  • Remembering the poor. We will live among and serving the poor, overlooked, and marginalized in a way that embodies the way of Jesus and seeks to find God in the face of those on the outside.

  • Category defying relationships. We will cultivate deep, loyal, and united friendships across the boundaries of race, class, politics, and sex, in a world that seeks to polarize and divide based on categories of power or privilege.
